Under Eye Creme: How to Correctly and Gently Apply + Bonus Tips!
The skin around the eyes is fragile, much thinner compared to the skin around your face, and lacks in collagen and elastin fibers, making blood vessels more noticeable. Stemming from this is one reason why the eyes tend to show the first signs of aging. But we can help combat the forces of mother nature by caring for our eyes using a few simple beauty tricks.
(1). Cleanse your skin before application of the under eye cream. Clean skin will help remove dirt and unclog pores to allow the cream to absorb the benefits of the eye cream. Always apply eye cream after cleansing and before using moisturizer.
(2). Use a gentle under eye cream, like our Youthful Eye Contour Crème, and apply a pea size amount to the tip of your ring finger. You want to gently dot the eye cream under your eye, moving from the inner corner to the outer corner.
(3). Gently tap the under eye cream onto your eyes, never rub it in. Think of when you pat someone on the back. Similar to that motion, use your ring finger and tap the cream. This motion helps to press the cream into the surrounding skin of the eye.
(4). Allow your skin to fully absorb the under eye cream for several minutes before applying moisturizer and/or makeup.
(1). Drink lots of H2O! It is your best friend and your best-kept beauty secret. Water aids in digestion, circulation, hydration, absorption, and excretion. Cells need water, and water accounts for nearly 70% of our cell composition. The more water you drink, it will translate into naturally radiant, younger, healthy-looking skin. Not to forget the more water you drink, the happier, healthier your cells, organs, tissue, muscles will feel.
(2). In addition to putting on sunscreen, before going outside, make sure to grab your shades! Typically the sun’s rays are the strongest between the hours of 9 am to 5:30 pm.Wearing sunglasses helps protect the skin around your eyes from invisible ultraviolet rays (UV rays) from the sun, and helps reduce the formation of wrinkles and sunburn.
